About Me and this Site

by William L. Nowell

Introduction

First, let me introduce myself. I'm not a theologian, pastor, evangelist, or bearer of any similar title. On the contrary, I'm just an ordinary, average, everyday Christian. However, in today's society, as throughout the ages, many people who self-identify as “Christian” are in no way Christ-like. Therefore, I need to clarify what I mean by a “Christian.” A Christian is a born-again, Bible-believing follower of the risen Savior, Jesus of Nazareth.

Me

I have a deep concern for fellow Believers who face persecution for their faith in Christ. Extremist groups and individuals worldwide ruthlessly slaughter Christians in unprecedented numbers, especially in the Middle East and Africa. Today, Christians endure persecution comparable to that of the ancient Roman Empire. Unfortunately, many people in the USA are not fully aware of what is happening around the world. The Church in America needs to wake up!

I'm a creationist. I believe that God created everything that exists; there was no "big bang" and no evolution. In a society where belief in evolution is deeply ingrained, holding the creationist worldview is akin to swimming against the tide. But I've never let a little thing like that deter me. Read my article on why I am a scientific biblical creationist to explore some of the many compelling reasons that support my stance.

I support the nation of Israel, as should everyone who claims to be a follower of Jesus. After all, Yeshua (Jesus) was a Jew. He brought the Gospel first to the Jewish people. They then took the Gospel into all the world. We have a Jewish Savior. God said that in the last days He would regather His Chosen People from among the nations to reestablish Israel. The Almighty God has given the nation of Israel to His Chosen People as their Promised Land. When Hamas and other enemies of God attack Israel, they do so in direct defiance of God. We must each make a choice: will you stand with the enemies of God who oppose Israel, or will you stand with God's Chosen People, Israel? The Scriptures say, “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve … But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15). I choose to stand with Israel.

I have long been interested in end-time prophecy. In the past, people could only read prophecies as predictions of events far in the future. Today, however, we only need to turn on the news to witness prophecies unfolding before our eyes. Romans 1:18-32 reads like today's headlines. We live in ominous times; nevertheless, it is still exciting to see prophecy come to life.

About the Website Address

Recall, Yeshua commanded His disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel, which is: Christ died (on a cross), they buried Him, and He rose from the dead. At another time, He said we each must take up our cross and follow (walk after) Him.

Furthermore, the original language of the New Testament is Greek, a language in which each letter corresponds to a specific number. Notably, in Greek, the name Yeshua (Jesus) has a numerical value of 888. And so, when you put the pieces together, you get the website address (URL) www.CrossWalk888.com.

Purpose

The purpose of this site is to "contend for the faith" (Jude 1:3), to shine a light on Christian persecution, and to explore the Hebraic (Jewish) roots of Christianity. Furthermore, this is a space where I discuss a variety of topics that are meaningful to Christians, such as the importance of the Sabbath.

Sabbath, the Forgotten Commandment

Book

Among professing Christians, the Sabbath Commandment undoubtedly is the most ignored of the Ten Commandments. To address this issue, I've authored a book called "Sabbath, the Forgotten Commandment." It's available at Amazon , Barnes & Noble , Walmart , and most other book retailers.

Throughout the centuries, Christians have had questions about the Sabbath. This book researches and answers many of these questions. For example:

  • Did Yeshua (Jesus) abolish the Sabbath?
  • Why have most Christians replaced the seventh-day Sabbath with Sunday?
  • Who was behind the change from the seventh day to the first day?
  • What does it mean to keep the Sabbath day holy, and how can we do this?
  • Is the Sabbath important to God?

If you want answers to these and other pertinent questions about the Sabbath, this book is for you!

Music and More

At times, we all need to step away from the stress of everyday life. One way I do that is by enjoying great music. I am a lifelong music lover who enjoys nearly all genres of music. In particular, I have a special love for Christian music crafted in authentic Caribbean styles such as reggae and soca. For the best in Caribbean Christian music, visit my Live 365 station: Caribbean SONshine Radio.

For those of you who enjoy music videos, I've embedded videos from my YouTube channel, Caribbean SONshine TV . Enjoy.

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise His name; proclaim His salvation day after day. (Psalm 96:1-2)
